Description:

“Captain” Audacity Gunner travels through the rip times of space preying on rich merchant ships with his business partner, the sentient spaceship Carthage. They are called traders, buccaneers, pirates – respectable folk have many names for them, and few are flattering. With a spirited crew of fellow misfits, they keep their secrets, elude the Colonial Federation military, and live for the adventure (and, of course, the money).

Gunner considers himself a missing person, with no history, no future, and no drama. He’s got Carthage, a (sometimes) warm bunk to sleep in, and his basket of knitting. If you ask him, he’s flying high. Everything is fine, it’s great, it’s all just swell.

A chance encounter on the remote space station Down Disco Bar and Grill brings aboard the handsome, mysterious physician Dr. Sagittarius Diefenbaker. The Good Doctor seems to have an agenda outside of being on the run, and Gunner really hopes he’s on that “to do” list. But now all of a sudden the Colonial Federation is coming after Carthage and nothing is as it appears…not the beautiful doctor, not their pursuers, and possibly not even Carthage herself.

Meanwhile, out in the deepest reaches of the galaxy, the sworn enemies of humanity, the ruthless centipede-like aliens known as Pejj, are on the move…
